Maryland Deathfest VII: Daily Lineups Revealed

The organizers of the annual Maryland Deathfest, which will take place at Sonar in Baltimore, MD, have released the following update:

“Below is a list of bands for each day of MDF 2009. There are several different scenarios on the table as far as stage setup goes, so we won’t be announcing exact set times until sometime in March.

Individual day tickets will go on sale on Monday, January 19th.

You can expect doors to open around 3:30 pm on Friday and 12:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. These are only estimates, but not off by more than 30 minutes or so.

damn, ticket and plane ticket are only like $300 total (that's pretty good considering the airport here is kind of small and usually charges a lot for flights anywhere).

hotels on the other hand are kind of expensive....

I mean, Mayhem's cool and all but black's never been my thing except in small doses. If any day is expendable of those three for me, it's the one where there's a couple of bands that would be cool to see as opposed to the other two days where there are several bands it is imperative to see.

I've seen Cephalic do short festival sets plenty of times.

Most likely the Sheraton. I will be purchasing my room and tickets probably toward the end of February when Uncle Samhain makes me not (well, less) broke.

You want to shoot for $100/night or less...but you don't to stay in a shithole where the cockroaches are going to crawl up your ass and squirt AIDS everywhere. Sheraton or Holiday Inn are good bets, nice clean and professional w/ no frills; the further in advance you book the cheaper it is.

Compare rates through different websites like travelocity, orbitz, hotels.com etc.

on the MDF website they list a bunch of hotels that are nearby. the ones within short walking distance are already booked up.

We should all just book 5 nights at 5 different hotels, and every night cover the place in bed linen and duvets and crash on the floor then in the morning piss all over the place and move onto the next hotel.

Also, who the fuck are those bands that are coming on before Pestilence? That's pretty much the only band there I really want to see. I thought they were going to be playing on the same night as Mayhem, but I guess I won't be seeing Mayhem now. Cephalic Carnage is GAY.

Devourment and The Red Chord are not bands I am a fan of. I'm also not going to be going to any of these shows for more than a couple of hours to see the headlining acts. Fests are gay, aside from the fact that they draw PBB buddies from around the world to attend them

Saturday is clearly the best day.

Depending on price I will definitely be here. With possibility of being able to give people a place to crash.
