What's the wood?

Spalted maple on top, american mahogany on the back
Neck is gonna be mahogany as well with an ebony fretboard.
I'm contemplating getting the inlays done in spalted maple too.

Are you painting it or just oiling it? A friend of mine has a guitar with wooden hardware (volume and tone controls and e grips for the machine heads), it looks very classy on a guitar with a natural finish

I wish it had more irregularities to it myself.
I came up with that design a long time ago, I hated the way you had to hold a flying v while sitting down. So that notch in the bottom is so you can hold it a little more proper.

Sort of reminds me of a hamer scarab a bit.

He sent me some more today of what the body is going to look like. I told him to change it though on the scallop on the tail of, not such sharp lines, needs to be curved to match the notch in the bottom.
I told him to make it more like this.

The cutaway on the bottom of the guitar looks like it would be uncomfortably close the the strings and not deep enough for it to really sit on your knee without slipping off every 2 seconds.

I'm assuming you're going to have a bolt on neck? What kind of pickups? I'm partial to dual humbuckers

It's still possible to use a set neck

Why would you assume a bolt on? It's going to be a set neck. Pickups are some gold plated seymour duncan jeff beck in the bridge and 59 in the neck.
And this guy sets them correctly. Not like most manufacturers that just glue the neck into the routing, he actually routes a slab for part of the nack to actually be under the neck pickup, like this guitar he's doing.
