This fest just got a whole lot more awesome.
What better way to welcome in the Halloween weekend than with an extensive list of bands that were recently confirmed for MDF? We actually expected a few more bands to be included in this announcement, but sometimes things take a bit longer than expected. There is a chance that we’ll follow up with another announcement of a few bands as early as next week, and if so you can expect that to be the end of the booking process for MDF 2009.
We apologize to those who were expecting tickets to go on sale earlier, but we aren’t able to set a ticket price until all bands have been confirmed. Tickets will definitely go on sale on Friday, November 7th, so check the website then.
Just announced to appear at MDF 2009:

The people who are, or should I say were excited about this appreciate your insight. Thanks to you they now realize what a waste of time it would be to go see all these bands they thought they liked until you enlightened us as to their true nature, without having even heard them no less.Motorhead wrote:Wow a whole fest of bands that sound exactly the same!
Thanks, Motorchamp.
Hey, I'm not telling you something you don't know. Every one of those bands will be indistinguishable from the others, maybe not counting a small few.Cock Lobster wrote:The people who are, or should I say were excited about this appreciate your insight. The whole fest = "GRRRR GROWL BLAST BEAT" for 400 hours. Hooray!
No. There are two or three grindcore bands. And several others that aren't death metal and aren't really even close.Motorhead wrote:Grindcore, whatever. Fuck, do you really not know who Grief are? Don't you pride yourself on knowing MA bands (and this is one of the VERY few that aren't absolute dogshit)?
Nope, I know about 3 bands from that whole list. I don't pride myself on knowing MA bands either, most of em suck. Shadows/ATR and Killswitch rule, but bands like Red Chord are pure shit.Cock Lobster wrote:No. There are two or three grindcore bands. So if you don't know the bands on this list you don't listen to metal?Kellan wrote:How does one claim to listen to metal and know only three bands from that list? Unless of course you listen to Metallica. Constantly.
SD can you give us some insight as well?
Dumbest thing I've EVER read here. Amazing.
Shut up. There's nothing amazing about that statement and it isn't the dumbest thing you've EVER read here. Don't be a douchebag (if you can help it!).Motorhead wrote:So if you don't know the bands on this list you don't listen to metal?Kellan wrote:How does one claim to listen to metal and know only three bands from that list? Unless, as has been said, you are some poseur Hot Topic metalhead like a Robert Hollis or Steve Coffey who think 80's Metallica is as heavy as it gets, you SHOULD know that Mayhem, Marduk, Enslaved, and Keep of Kalessin are black metal bands, who sound nothing like Phobia, a crust-grind band, and nothing like Lair of the Minotaur, a thrash band, and nothing like Grief, a legendary MA doom metal band, and nothing like Pig Destroyer, Pestilence Immolation, Bolt Thrower, Atheist, all death metal bands with very distinct sounds.
How many feet do you have, anyway? Are they all equally delicious?
I've heard of more than 3 in my passing of reading metal magazines and metal message boards, but I don't like just about any of them.Cock Lobster wrote:Shut up. So now you're a poser if you don't like death/black metal? Wowie guys!
and isn't Pig Destroyer grind core? Either way, I don't like most "death" metal or various stupid sub-genres related to it, but yet I still own 200-300 metal CD's!
HELP! I'm a poser! Help!
No, dummy, I never said that. Try re-reading a little slower this time so you can comprehend what the letter arrangements actually spell out. Here, I'll help: I said you should KNOW them. Not necessarily like them.Motorhead wrote:you're the one saying one is a poser if you like metal and not these bands. Keep up with the insane statements!Cock Lobster wrote:Oh my god. AGAIN with the self ownage. It's like an avalanche.
Oh, and saying "I've heard of more than 3 in my passing of reading metal magazines and metal message boards, but I don't like just about any of them" really doesn't give you a leg to stand on when it comes to insane statements. You don't like just about any of the bands you've ONLY READ ABOUT IN PASSING?
If you dislike pop and read about new pop bands, you know that you won't like em even without hearing em. Durrr Cory the tr00 metal warrior.Cock Lobster wrote:No, dummy, I never said that. Most black/death/grind/gay/homo/random sub-genre metal is garbage anyway. Hence, my statement. Owned. Jokes on you. Owned.
