to learn. I'm not talking about Freebird and shit like that. Fingerpicking stuff would be cool, but not classical. Folk sounding stuff is cool. Also anything like Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away would rule.
I got a new acoustic, a Taylor model 110. That's basically the cheapest they had but it still sounds great
Another good one is Can't You See by The Marshall Tucker Band. It's basically just one riff the whole song, and it helped me with finger picking quite a bit
"Dust in the Wind" by Kansas
"Classical Gas"
"Tears in Heaven" Eric Clapton (it's not normal fingerpicking, but still an awesome song)

There's all kinds of awesome acoustic shit I don't know of, but I'd love to learn so I can learn the style. Like I said the acoustic part of Over the Hills and Far Away is fucking AWESOME. I'd love to find a whole song like that
also, "Mood for a Day" by Steve Howe of Yes. Amazing instrumental piece.

You may already know these; Stone The Crow (acoustic ver.), Where I'm Going and Jail.
My Friends by RHCP. Hurt by NIN. Nirvana's Unplugged cd. AIC's Sap ep. I know you said no classical but Desolate Ways by Morbid Angel is pretty cool and not hard to play. The intro to Beneath the Remains.
I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity -- Edgar Allan Poe
and songs like "bones of babydolls" and "scream of the butterfly" and "dead girl" by Acid Bath.

This guy I work with is an awesome acoustic player. He plays all kinds of shit that I've never heard of. Not popular artists or anything. They might be traditional songs for all I know. I'm going to get these pieces from him and post them here to enlighten you fuckwads.

well I didn't know exactly what all you were looking for, so I didn't name anything that you probably hadn't heard of.
Norman Blake has some fantastic stuff. He also plays mandolin and banjo; it's kinda bluegrass/folk kinda stuff. The stuff on acoustic guitar is sometimes fingerpicked and sometimes flatpicked.

neil youngs guitar playing is great, and it isn't hard to pick up. also gordon lightfoot is another great folk guitarist but some of his better songs are kind of hard
Opeth - Benighted (I don't listen to them, I just happen to know that song, so don't bitch at me)
Kevin James derp de derp. Derp de derpity derpee derp. Until one day aderp aderp aderp. Derp de derp, ta teetley tum. From the creators of Der, and Tum Ta Tittaly Tum Ta Too, Kevin James is Da Derp Dee Derp Da Teetley Derpee Derpee Dumb. Rated PG-13.
been playng all day on the guitar. although, it's mainly malevolent creation and suffocation type riffs... rock on. i've always liked jamming anything that john frusciante writes rhcp/solo stuff... I could have lied is a funny little jam riff...scream of the butterfly acid bath, but super easy.
